Mercedes SLK 250 CDI - the SLK gets an oil-burner
It would have been almost unthinkable until recently; a sports car with a diesel engine. But now it makes so much sense on so many levels it’s no surprise that Mercedes-Benz has opted to give us an oil-burning SLK – the Mercedes SLK 250 CDI. In all the ways that matter the SLK 250 CDI is just like every other Mercedes SLK.
The Aston Martin CC100 Speedster concept has been built to celebrate the centenary of the British brand at the Nürburgring 24 Hour race. Apparently inspired by the beautiful 1959 DBR1 racecar, the CC100 apparently also gives some clues as to Aston's upcoming design language, particularly around the grille, with its prominent insert and the treatment of the side strake, which here becomes a more integral part of the wheel arch and fender. The car was designed in Aston Martin's studio in Gaydon, with its bodywork the responsibility of chief exterior designer Miles Nurnburger.
Just unveiled at the 2010 Detroit auto show, this is the new 2010 Audi A8, Ingolstadt’s flagship limo designed to take on the BMW 7-series, Mercedes S-class and Jaguar XJ. Like the previous two generations of A8, the new car is built entirely of aluminium, meaning it achieves some incredible fuel figures. There’s also a gorgeous interior, some very cool gadgets, and the promise from Audi that the A8 will be the sportiest luxury saloon in its class.
